If you are thinking about a June 1st retirement, please note that March 1st is the deadline for Teachers’ Retirement to receive the Pre-Retirement Verification (Form 3). This form can be found at TRS Active Members and must be printed, completed, and mailed to TRS along with supporting documentation. Missed deadlines will delay your retirement date. You will also find helpful information by accessing the TRS Member Handbook.

In addition, there are two helpful websites you can utilize to ensure accurate reporting of teaching experience and/or years of TRS creditable service.

The first is the SDE to verify credit for teaching experience. Log into Single Sign On, View Credentials, SPR, then in the bottom middle View SPR Report. This will provide you with a printable report of your Oklahoma Teaching Experience. Questions about the report should be directed to SDE School Personnel Records.

The second is MyTRS Member Portal to not only verify membership years but also to project a retirement date. Once registered, MyTRS lets all members view detailed information specific to you. If you are still working, you can see how much money has built up in your account balance. You can see how many years of service credit you have toward retirement. You can also see your salary history. In addition, you can view your annual member statement, estimated retirement eligibility information, and generate hypothetical retirement benefit estimates. If you are retired, you can see your retirement payment history as well as your 1099 tax forms. You can reprint those forms at any time.
