About Ponca City Public Schools
The Ponca City School District is the 20th largest district in Oklahoma, with over 5,000 students attending 11 fully accredited schools. Our schools attract the finest teachers because of the district's commitment to excellence in education, one of the highest salary schedules in the state, and our facilities.
The district is known as a leader in the state, if not the nation, for the professional development provided to the employees. The district takes pride in having 13 Nationally Board Certified teachers and 28% of teachers with advanced degrees. Ponca City's ACT scores are continually above state and national averages. Ensuring the success of each individual student is the district's primary responsibility, resulting in the district being a leader in the development and implementation of full-day early childhood programs, after school tutoring, mentoring, summer school and alternative school programs.
In addition to strong academic programs, students have many opportunities to participate in fine arts, athletics and leadership programs, encouraging personal and social development beyond the classroom. Ponca City School District's relationship with the community sets it apart from other districts. Over the past 10 years, citizens have passed over $85 million in bond issues.
