Congratulations to Lauren Schmitt, a fifth grade student at Woodlands Elementary. Lauren won first place in Division I (5th grade) of the Americanism essay contest sponsored by the Oklahoma Elks Association. She is pictured receiving her recognition from Tom Sipe.
Other local winners were Alice Roberts, third place, Division II (6th grade) and Kenli Miller, third place, Division III (7th grade).
