Jera Kiespert

Roosevelt Principal Earns Recognition

Jera Kiespert, principal of Roosevelt Elementary, has been awarded the James Burnett Principal of Distinction honor by the Oklahoma Association of Elementary School Principals. Jera will be recognized during the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA) Summer Leadership Conference in June.

“I am truly grateful to receive this honor and work in the Ponca City school district,” said Kiespert. “Adam Leaming, Teri Vogele, and all the administrators have provided me with amazing support and learning opportunities over the past two years. I am blessed to lead Roosevelt. Its genuine success is sustained by the many teachers, staff, parents, and students that pour their hearts into making it great every single day.”

“We are incredibly proud of Jera’s recognition as one of the top three elementary principals in Oklahoma,” said PCPS Superintendent Adam Leaming. “Her dynamic approach, blending fun and creativity into the fabric of our school environment, has not only enriched our students’ learning experiences at Roosevelt but has also set a benchmark in educational leadership. Her innovative spirit and dedication are truly inspirational.”

The OAESP Administrator of the Year Awards promote leadership in elementary education by recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to their schools through programs that exemplify the highest standards and promote student achievement. Award winners serve as inspirational leaders to OAESP— they embody the core values of serving students and being committed to their school communities.

“Research reflects that strong principals have mastered these domains of skills --instruction, people and the organization,” said Dr. Pam Deering, CCOSA Executive Director. “On behalf of CCOSA, I want to congratulate these principal leaders who demonstrate these skills that effective principals rely on to impact student achievement. We are grateful for their dedication and commitment to the profession, their students, staff, and community.”
