All Freshmen will be taking the PreACT 9 during September 28 through October 2. Students will be assigned to ONE of those days. This test is online, so students will need their school-issued Chromebooks.
Testing rosters that show test day and test room assignment will be posted on Thursday, September 24 outside all of the Freshman English classrooms.
Freshmen should
- report to their assigned test room by 7:45AM;
- bring their Chromebook, charger, calculator and a picture ID; and
- do their best on the test!

PreACT 10 testing for Sophomores will begin on Monday, September 14 and run through Friday, September 18. Testing rosters that show test day and test room assignment will be posted on Thursday, September 10th outside all Sophomore English classrooms. Students will test on one day only.

Sophomores should:

- bring a calculator, two #2 pencils, and a picture ID; and
- do their best on the test!

The Kay County Health Department will be offering walk-in immunizations during Ponca City Public Schools Open Enrollment—July 20-23.
To better accommodate working families, the Health Department will also have extended hours until 6:00 p.m. on:

Henry O’Neill, a junior, and Teagan Phillips, a senior, earned their first trip to the state tournament with an outstanding performance on the court.

UPDATE: Both sites are all clear. The schools have resumed their normal activities.
Wildcat Academy and Roosevelt Elementary are currently under a precautionary lockdown while the Ponca City Police Department investigates a reported threat for Wildcat Academy.

Girls will now begin at 3:00 PM
Boys will begin at 5:00 PM

On April 15, 2026, Juniors will take the Science content test and the US History test.
All Seniors will meet on Wednesday at City Central for their Career Day. Freshmen and Sophomores are on Distance Learning for Wednesday.
Juniors who attend the Po-Hi campus and Virtual Juniors will test at Po-Hi.
Wildcat Academy and SHARE Juniors will test at Wildcat Academy.
THESE TESTS ARE REQUIRED BY THE STATE FOR GRADUATION. It is important for Juniors to take each of the tests on the scheduled day.
Testing room rosters are posted outside each of the Junior English classrooms and the Business Office.
On test day:
Report to test rooms by 7:45 AM.
Bring your Chromebook, charging cord, calculator, and a picture ID (school ID or driver's license).
Testing will end about 11:45/12:00--students will be released for the rest of the day once all testing is completed.
Lunch will be served as usual following the testing sessions.
Buses will run at the usual times before and after school. Students who need to ride the bus home will hang out in the Commons after testing.
Remember that choices you make today give you more options for what you want to do after high school. Do your best on the test!

Performances will be held Friday, February 27, at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 28, at 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, March 1, at 2:00 p.m. in the Howell Auditorium at Ponca City High School.
Ticket prices: Students $5; Adults $10.

Packets were sent home with elementary students last week. Secondary students can check Google classroom for assignments.
