Last week, our medical and social services–aligned interns participated in a HIPAA training led by a representative from Integris Health.
The session gave students a clear, practical understanding of why patient privacy matters, what HIPAA looks like in real workplace settings, and how expectations can differ between high school interns and college-level placements. Students also had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions and better understand their roles, responsibilities, and boundaries in professional healthcare environments.
Providing this kind of training helps set our interns up for success, not just for their current placements but for future careers in medical and social service fields. We are grateful to Integris for investing their time and expertise in our students.
