Dear Ponca City High School Students and Families,
As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, Ponca City High School is excited to introduce a new bell schedule designed to maximize instructional time, create consistency, and provide additional support for student success.
New Start Time: 7:55 a.m.
Beginning this school year, the school day will start at 7:55 a.m. This five-minute adjustment allows us to maximize instructional time in each class period and provide every student with strong Tier 1 instruction each day.
What a Traditional Week Will Look Like
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Regular Schedule (see schedule below)
Tuesday, Thursday: WILD Time/Advisory Schedule (see schedule below)
WILD (Wildcats Improving Learning Daily) is a dedicated time on Tuesdays and Thursdays for students to receive additional support, reteaching, enrichment, or academic coaching based on their individual needs.
Please note: This will be our traditional weekly schedule; however, adjustments may occur throughout the year for testing, assemblies, special events, and other activities.
Important Lunch Changes
A major change this year will be our lunch schedule. After several years of operating with three lunch periods, Ponca City High School will transition to two lunch periods.
With this change:
Students will have a 40-minute lunch period.
Lunch periods will include more students than in previous years.
We ask students and families for patience and flexibility at the beginning of the year as we work through the timing and routines of this new lunch structure. Our goal is to create a smooth and positive experience for all students. PCPS has added additional seating and tables to accommodate more students during each lunch.
Dismissal Time Change
The school day will now end at 3:09 p.m. instead of 3:10 p.m. This small adjustment helps balance the overall schedule and maintain consistency throughout the day.
